Two decades old.

Day 2 of being a 20 year old. Now it seems like burdens are getting heavier and responsibilities are piling up. Not to mention, my assignments that are literally makin' me dysfunctional. Almost had an infarction when I found out that I have FOUR assignments due next week, back to back! -.-

Getting back to the topic. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES! I wouldn't say my birthday was magical or anyhow a great celebration. But it was indeed warm & sweet; spent with my closest ones. I wouldn't deny the fact that birthday parties are irresistibly fun, but the time spent on organizing and the moolah spent on the invitations, food, drinks etc; I cannot bear the burden. Haha. Maybe next year, a big one for my 21st - entering adulthood ( boy oh boy!)

But one thing for sure: MY BLOGPOST WILL BE FILLED WITH GREAT QUALITY PICTURES BECAUSE BECAUSE BECAUSE I FINALLY GOT MY S100! ( Damn, lucky or what. I was just bragging about not having a proper camera for events, parties etc in my previous posts)

I DID NOT LET MONDAY RUIN MY BIRTHDAY; that's for sure. Went to Italiannies @ Empire for a simple dinner with Mr.Billy.

My 2 hours old camera, unfortunately died on me because I was so excited with it that  I couldn't get my hands off it and BATTERY DIED. But again, THANK GOD FOR POLAROIDS!

Nonetheless, the day ended with a good book in hand and a reliable shoulder to lie on. Some say birthday is just 'another day' as you grow older, I tend to think otherwise. Its a day where you celebrate the birth of the wonderful YOU and the day when you thank your mother for all the hardship that she's gone through. Positivity all the way. Before I return (next year) with a birthday post, just wanna say THANK YOU FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES xx

TAKE NOTE:

Now, I'd like to make a mini announcement ::  I WILL NEED YOU LOVERS ( MY BELOVED READERS) TO VOTE FOR ME IN AN UPCOMING CONTEST. Nope, don't worry it couldn't cost you like how Beautycamp did ;) In fact, if you do vote for me, you'll stand a chance of winning something in return too! HOW AWESOME?

Now, stay tuned for more. I will be back in no time. x

FMFA 2012 : Polaroids

Yet another unforgettable night at Future Music Festival Asia 2012! The first ever music festival that I've attended and I must say, IT WAS DOPE! Not forgetting the 12hours non-stop performing acts at four different stages. A job well done, Live Scape Asia!

The only bummer of the night was the fact that I did not have a camera in hand. Have yet to get myself a Canon S100.  BUT THANK GOD FOR MY POLAROIDS! Otherwise, its gonna be just 'another night' that I'll probably forget 10 years down the road :P Nonetheless, it was good catching up with a couple of friends. Met up with Juanita and Aaron & a few others later during the night.

One complain though: WHY ARE POLAROID FILMS so darn expensive?! Close to RM30 per pack- 10 films each :/ More reasons to get my S100 ( Well, if you're wondering.. I DO have 2 DSLRs at home, D90 and EOS40D but the problem with DSLRs- they're too heavy to be carried around and I cant bear the bruises on my neck/shoulders anymore). Hence, my decision to actually get a compact camera with great effects! Soon soon ;)

Happenings of the night of Future Music Festival Asia @ Sepang International Circuit.

Party actually started as early as 11am because it was also ST. PATTY'S! Went over to a friend's crib for lunch and I was already tipsy by the end of it. The entire meal was alcohol-fied! -.- Ended up going home for a short nap to curb the "pre-hangover". I can never enjoy myself when drunk. Hence, NO ALCOHOLS FOR ME! NEVER! ;)

Headed over to Sepang at 5.30pm, all prepped up. Apparently Flo Rida's act was the best and we missed it. Nothing to lose, we had Tinie Tempah towards the end of the night ;) *cues Tinie Tempah's Written in the Stars

Found Love

I may be a little behind time. Well, clearly.. I meant behind the hype for Instagram! Yes, pathetic I know. WHY CAN'T BERRY USERS HAVE AWESOME APPS LIKE APPLE(s) TOO?! Okay, that shouldn't be an issue that I should address- unencessity is not needed, not now.

There are so many things that I wanna talk about, really - from the #holidaymood that I'm still in despite the re-opening of the semester 3 WEEKS AGO, my new found love for Apple products ( well, I haven't been exploring much on my Macbook so.. ) to my desperation of getting an well-toned bod. Ahh, just too much to blabber about if you ask me. I'll keep things short this time around ( my piled up assignments, mostly due in a week's time are bugging me already! )

Just a few words before signing off..

#1. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I MISS BEAUTYCAMP. Let's do it all over again!

#2. I miss my mum, badly.

#3. This baby in the picture, has almost the exact same name as I do! And when the adults go "Maydelyn, kuchiii kuchiiii.. ang-gu-guuu" - I tend to perasan abit lah :p

#4. My previous aviator went missing during Beautycamp. I think I left them in Andrea's car after
my injection @ myDentist. Too sedated to be sane. HAHA! Love got me a new one! Apparently its my early birthday present. Well, we'll see ;)

#5 It took me a good 6 months to grow my brows! First threading experience didn't go too well.
The indian lady almost got me brow-BALD!

#6. Gettin' back to books felt fresh. But the thought of memorizing facts about Constitutions, infringing rights, Cold War, United Nations and yada yadaa.. yeah, you get what I mean.

#7. Kid is only 7 years old and she's already short-sighted. Aiyo, kids these days ahh!
Well, I wasn't any better. Had my first glasses when I was 9. But I swear, it was the books- not friendster/ nintendo!

#8. Kyla Ruiz; MUST-HAVE Brazilian Bikini!

#9. Mom said " Real vintage Chanels should be passed down, don't waste your money buying them".

Tons of pending blogposts. Need to get back to the books #lifeofastudent.

Btw, I might have some good news coming up! Till then, taa! xx

Diet taboos!

I know I know. You've tried all possible solutions to shed those fats off. You've been to the gym almost 6 times a week and you still don't seem to see the results. You're desperate to get those love handles away. You're frustrated because you still can't fit into your favourite jeans. You're this and that.. the list goes on!

Ladies, have you ever thought.. maybe ( just maybe) you're not doing the right way? or maybe you haven't put in enough time and effort? Well, I have been through all those stages and I KNOW HOW HARD AND BAD IT FEELS. And you definitely wouldn't want those 'desperations' to last for the next donkey months or maybe years!

Keep reading and see if any of these relates to your daily diet routine.

1) Hunger or thirst?

More often than not, when the tummy growls or when you felt the tiny tinge of hunger.. you tend to think that you need FOOD! People sometimes confuse with thirst and hunger. You can end up eating extra calories when an iced-cold glass of water is what you really need.

So if you feel hungry next time, try drinking 500mL of water and see if its really hunger or thirst ;)

But if you haven't been eating for the past 6 hours.. then thats definitely HUNGER!

2) Are you really hungry?

The author of Am I Hungry? , Michelle May suggested that " Whenever you are hungry, look for physical signs of hunger". For example, when your tummy growls as loud as the lightning strikes. Not when you see the McDonald's billboard and get tempted by the irresistible McValue lunches!

Hunger is way your body tells you that you need fuel to keep the day running. So if craving doesn't come from hunger, eating will never satisfy it.

Everytime you're done eating, you shouldn't feel bloated or tired but instead you should feel better and satisfied.

"Your stomach is only the size of your fist, so it takes just a handful of food to fill it comfortably", says May.

Remember, have your food in the right portions and at the right times! If you do, it will help you get more in touch with your feelings of hunger and fullness.

3) I don't want to overeat!

Think small. Trade your large plates and silverware for small ones. Brian Wansink, author of "Mindless Eating," says we eat 22% less on a 10-inch than 12-inch plate. Use a tablespoon, not a serving spoon to dish out of portions.

Think about what you put on your plate and make sure you really want it. Serve from the stove instead of the table, so second helpings aren't right in front of you. Eat slowly so your body has the time to tell your brain that "I'M FULL".

4) You don't have to say NO to your favourite food.

Well, putting your favourite food off limits usually leads to weight gain because it tends to trigger "rebound" overeating.

So, instead of cutting out your favourite food ( I tend to go out of control when it comes to buying MARS chocolate bars), be a slim shopper! Buy a mini chocolate bar instead of a whole bag/ box. Or maybe a small portion of candy from the bulk bins instead of the entire bag! ( I know, temptations is the hardest thing to resist)

So MODERATION is the key! Nobody's gonna stop you from eating your favorite cookies or chocolates :)

And oh well, cookie monster is just jealous ;P

5) MUST HIT THE GYM TO BURN THE BURGER I HAD LAST NIGHT!

Unfortunately, this is always the case - many of you often use exercising as a form of punishment for eating too much or to "earn" the right to eat more! That's NOT the right way. ( Though I must admit, I do that sometimes)

"When you do, it sets up a negative thought pattern, which is why so many people say they hate to exercise", says Michelle May, author of Am I Hungry?

Instead, focus more on how great you feel, how much better you sleep and how much more you have when you exercise. Physical activity is good for you whether you are trying to lose weight or not, so keep it positive and build a lifelong habit!

Don't cheat, you're only lying to yourself. At the end of the day, it is YOUR body and your health. Make your time spent at the gym count!

"Its not how long you workout, its how much hardwork and determination you put into it!"

I have made a vow to eat healthy and live healthier. And I can really see the results of a healthy diet and constant exercise routine. I can't wait to work on the abs and be as good looking as Nicole Scherzinger!

Laters! xx
